![]() ![]() Now it is connected by the docking station and under disk management it seems to show as only 73.13Gb which may be the same size as the old one that it copied and shows nothing under file system. The system info still says 78Gb hard drive. All seemed to go fairly well, copied successfully as far as I could tell.Īfter when I put the new hard drive in it gets to the windows screen and up comes the blue screen of death. I used BlacX docking station along with Acronis. My Old Hard Drive- Hitachi HTS541080G9SA00 Looking to reassess and make sure the device is right sized to the environment and I was also considering vendor change, but that may not be wo.I'll just go through what I have and what I have done and maybe someone can guide me or explain what I did wrong XG230 on site last renewal is in March, then it's 12 months to end of life.Direct upgrade is XGS23000 i think. Sophos XG - EOL coming stay or go? Security. And it seems that MS is phasing out Azure v1 (currently using AzureADCConnect). However our MS 365 services are dependent on Azure. We are slated to upgrade our servers to v2022 in the coming two quarters. So I am running into a little bit of a conundrum. Azure v2 Conundrum Cloud Computing & SaaS.I know its not typically good practice to do this at the DC level. ![]() Hello all, I need to build out a new domain controller, would prefer to reuse the hostname and ip as we have alot of internal apps and reference points to the server. New Domain Controller Reuse Hostname and IP Windows.with the lines: $ROOT = "\\Mydomain.LOCAL\myshare" HelloI have a script that exists on a server (\\mydomain\share\myscript.ps1)I run the script from a winpe boot usb ( using startnet.cmd, which calls Startnet.ps1. Copying files from servers Programming & Development.Thank you for sharing the powershell command.Īnother method (This is the suggested method according to the Server 2012 MCSA 70-410 study guide) is to reset the computer account via ADUC, then follow the Network ID wizard via the system properties on the workstation. ![]() Yeah a bit of bad/lazy advise from myself I admit. ![]() If can rejoin without needing to reboot, that'd be awesome. I have also observed "trust relationship" issue, after a system restore is done. This resets the kerberos ticket for the PC on that server and voila, they trust each other again. Fire up powershell under domain admin creds and use reset-computermachinepassword. It's probably already been said in this thread somewhere but re-joining to the domain is a bad solve for trust relationship issues. If you do then just re-join the workstation to the domain. Just bear in mind if you are working within a domain environment you may experience 'trust relationship' issues between the workstation and the domain. Using Acronis I have cloned HDD to SSD (OEM license) many many times. I use this on a weekly basis, it has never failed me thus far. Also used with "windows to go".Ĭannot go wrong with cloning. I wished they made that work for windows 10. This concept was also used with Minasi's Steadier state however, it was more robust with the commit/rollback script. It's also helpful because, I can mount my VHD and mange files natively within windows. We use this to image our training machines. I can always port my vhd onto the next drive if needed, once I capture my data into a VHD container. This process opens the door to portability too. It's a strange way to do it, but it's essentially just a backup and restore. No matter, it was just another way to move the data to the new drive. Sorry, I didn't say create a virtual machine and the steps I've outlined in my process totally keeps this bare metal.Īpparently it's something you've not looked into to come at me sideways like this. Seriously why create a virtual machine when they clearly wanted to keep it bare metal. Or they could just look at what they need to do and clone over the windows relative partitions to the new drives.
